How I became a metal-head

About a year ago, I was your 'average' kind of kid. The kinda kid who likes Hip Hop, wants to be famous, and making a living out of making music. While some of these goals did come true for me, others obviously did not. For starters, I manage to come up with a cool name that no one else has except me "Megga Tym". Secondly, I made quite a few mix tapes (7 or 8) on this name. Over a 100 songs since 2012, I had produced and recorded. And lastly, if you drop my name on your search engine, I'm pretty sure you'd get a lot of hits.

Whilst I got better each day at making music, I realized, I can't do this forever, or in this case for my whole life. Even though Hip Hop is very popular, I didn't sit quite well being known as 'another rapper' no matter has better I sounded than most, I still wouldn't. And so I gave it up the beginning of 2015. This of course is one of the reasons, not the only.

And then, same year, I watched this movie School of Rock. I enjoyed its sound tracks so much that I had to find out more. And then I stumbled upon these bands:
  • Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Motorhead & Ramones
After hearing Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Ace of Spades, I Ain't A Nice Guy, Highway To Hell, Back In Black, My Brain is Hanging Upside Down, I got totally hooked. Couple months after that I met this dude which I did not ask who his name was, but definitely had to take a picture with. It's not the shirt... he looks like Robert Plant to me.

I been so hooked that, not only did I give up on Hip Hop, I stopped listening to it altogether. Now I listening to...Metal!! To be specific on the sub-genres, I'm a fan of: Deathcore, Metalcore, Post-Hardcore/Punk, a little bit of Black Metal, and the classics of course.

Favorite Bands

Love and Death

Wolves At The Gate

Demon Hunter
System Of A Down

Impending Doom

 And many more...

Of course you don't just love metal and then move on with your life. This is especially true when you're in a place where you only know one person who likes metal, which happens to be yourself. You either get the "weird looks", the hate, head shakes, rebukes (I'm a Christian) or sympathy for liking the "devil's music". But this is a subject for another day.

Thanks for coming here dude!
